Things We Love: February Edition

February may be the shortest month of the year, but it’s also the most unpredictable. At least this is true for us in New York City — one day it’s snowing, the next it’s sunny and warm. How are we dealing with the mercurial weather? By shopping and planning trips, of course. Here are the people, places, and things we can’t stop sharing over chats and emails at Viyet HQ:

David Hockney at Tate Britain

A Bigger Splash 1967 David Hockney born 1937 Purchased 1981

The almost-80-year-old artist continues to be influential, with his bold works that combine riotous color with stunning subjects ranging from everyday sights to notable individuals. This exhibition has promised to be the most comprehensive of his work yet. Time to book that trip to London.

A Vintage Gem

Part sculpture, part lighting fixture, the French Brass Lead Wall Sconces add unmistakable glamour to your space.

Fashionable Fragrances

Treat yourself to a luxurious perfume that’s worthy of displaying on your vanity. Inspired by the late legendary fashion editor, the Outrageous collection by Diana Vreeland Parfums features intoxicating scents with fabulous names (and bottles) to match. We love Outrageously Vibrant, a scent that has notes of cassis and rich patchouli for a decadent effect, bottled in Vreeland’s favorite shade of pink.

Spanish Woodwork

Designed by De la Espada, this walnut and glass table is sleek and modern without seeming “cold”. We especially love how the exposed wood grain contributes a natural, subtle pattern.

Iconic Landmark

The dramatic late 19th-century architecture at The Artillery Bar makes a stunning setting for a fabulous cocktail in this Instagram-worthy Savannah bar.

Dazzling Details

Can cups be statement pieces? We say “yes” — especially when they’re designed by a legendary fashion house. The 1970s Italian Elk Stirrup Cups by Gucci have a figural design that will stand out on your bar cart or on your cocktail table.

Pastel Plates

Alberto Pinto’s Belle Saisons pattern brings a touch of delicate grace to your tabletop. Each hand-painted plate has a lovely floral pattern that’s the cheery antidote to winter blues.
