What inspired this career path for you? I’ve always been inspired by art, fashion, and good design; growing up in New York, you’re always surrounded by all three. It was a natural decision to pursue a career in all things beautiful.

What is your go-to source for inspiration? Traveling. I can’t do enough of it! There is nothing more inspiring than exploring new sights, experiencing different cultures, and seeing how people live in all parts of the globe—it would be impossible not to be affected by it.

Tell us about your creative process. Whatever the project, I am usually inspired by the first main aspect of the job. I then try to feed off that inspiration and then think about color, texture, depth, and interest in all aspects of it.

Describe your style in 6 words or less. Classic, timeless, bold, daring, and sexy.

What are the biggest trends you see in interior design right now and what are you loving (and not loving)? I am so happy that high gloss is in (again) right now, whether it be walls, ceilings, doors, trim, whatever—it adds drama, which I love, to any design. I can’t really think of anything that I am not loving at the moment; to each his/her own!

What’s a staple in your tool kit? Those that know me laugh, but I always love to incorporate geometric patterns into my designs. I feel that a project is not complete without something geometrically going on.

Who do you look up to in the design world? Juan Pablo Molyneux. I simply admire and respect his phenomenal work. I am grateful that I had the honor of working under his tutelage.

Tell us your favorite design-related quote. “More is more…”  –Tony Duquette

Which design blog, website, TV show, or magazine would you be lost without? Honestly, I love all design blogs, websites, shows, magazines, etc. Each one has their own perspective, and quite often I am surprised or impressed by something that may have slipped under my radar, and I would be remiss to not keep my eye on these proverbial balls.

What do you love about Viyet? What I love most about Viyet is that it offers up numerous styles of the design world that some would have once thought inaccessible. The days of “to the trade only” are dwindling, and this site offers up pieces within reach at every price point. I can’t believe Viyet didn’t exist until now; but now that it is here, we are all the better for it. That, and now people really have no excuses.
